MAY I suggest a headline — “Bolton News does it again!” On May 17 you printed an article about Chris Stokes.

As one of the many coping with depression, I feel it is important that there is more awareness of mental health issues and what help is available in addition to the medical profession.

However, at the end of the article attention was drawn to the mental health charity Mind in addition to Steps which was referred to in the article. It is only a few weeks since you printed a letter that referred to one of Angela Kelly’s articles that featured depression but made no reference to Mhist, Bolton’s own Mental Health Independent Support Team — a charity.

A short time after this you published a letter taking The Bolton News to task for failing to mention Mhist and now you've done it again!

As a user of Mhist’s services for some time and now a volunteer at Mhist, I think it is sad that Mhist does not get a mention.

People suffering depression and other mental health problems need to be aware of what help and support there is.

Mhist runs several selfhelp groups as well as providing other services.
