McFly show support for education for all campaign
POP band McFly have pledged their support to the Global Campaign For Education's "Join Up" petition.
The band, including Bolton-born singer Danny Jones, is among the 130,000 people who have so far signed the online petition.
And they are working hard to promote the campaign, which aims to bring education to the 80 million children worldwide who are missing the benefits of schooling.
They have travelled to Uganda twice to witness first hand the conditions which the Global Campaign For Education are working to put right.
The video for their new single, Baby's Coming Back, will encourage their fans to also sign the Join Up petition.
Tom Fletcher from the band said: "World leaders made a promise to give everyone an education. Let's hold them to it. Promises to kids are the worst kind of promises to break."
Danny added; "Our band is part of the chain because we want every child to get the chance to go to school. School rocks!"
The petition is due to be presented to world leaders before the G8 summit meeting in Germany which starts today.
