POLICE were forced to close Radcliffe Road after a man jumped from the former railway viaduct.
Officers and paramedics were called to Radcliffe Road in Darcy Lever at 5.30pm following reports the 47-year-old man had thrown himself from the derelict viaduct.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene and police closed the road while they investigated the surrounding area.
It was re-opened two hours later.
The man had been seen climbing the viaduct moments before he jumped and police are not treating the incident as suspicious.
