Men bailed after football violence
SIXTEEN men arrested on suspicion of being involved in football-related violence in a pub have been bailed by police.
The men, all from the Greater Manchester area, had been questioned by Lancashire Police in connection with an alleged fight between Bolton Wanderers and Manchester City thugs.
A man was dragged through a window and several people needed hospital treatment for cuts and bruises following the brawl in the Railway pub, Railway Road, Darwen, on Saturday evening.
Landlady Gillian Campbell said the damage would cost £1,500 to repair.
Police believe the fight, which took place at about 6.15pm after Wanderers' had been held 0-0 by City at the Reebok Stadium, had been pre-arranged by rival hooligan gangs. Yobs were reported to have armed themselves with pool cues and beer glasses.
The suspects have been released on police bail and will be called back for further questioning at the end of May.
Police are urging anyone who thinks they saw people involved in the violence in the area to call them on 01254 51212 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Is this the same set of hooligans who started the trouble in the HOME supporter’s area in Madrid?? And how are they going to blame this on the Police. THE MADRID POLICE GOT IT RIGHT. Not like the soft bunch of politically correct robots we have here.

No wonder real football fans have given up going away to rival football grounds, they'r afraid of getting caught up in mindless fights where innocent people either get stabbed of seriously hurt.
