RELIGIOUS groups from Bolton are coming together to raise funds for the victims of two devastating natural disasters.

The Bolton Interfaith Council is organising a "Helping in Harmony" event following the cyclone in Burma and the Chinese earthquake.

Thousands of people have died in the two tragedies and millions more have been left homeless.

On Saturday, June 7 between 10.30am and 3pm in Victoria Square, groups including Christians Together, Bolton Council of Mosques, Bolton Hindu Forum, and the Swaminarayan Temple will support a programme of activities.

They include a Christian choir, Hindu-Scottish Bag pipe band, Bollywood dancing, henna & face painting, Interfaith Young ambassadors, Salvation Army band, Dhol (drum) players, calligraphy writing, drama, poetry and reading.

The British Red Cross is supporting the event and will collect donations from the public.

If your group can provide an activity or is able to help, contact Chan Parmar at Bolton Interfaith Council on 01204 546110.
