THESE rather glum looking women clearly have something to frown about.
They claimed they had been left to die among the wreckage of a condemned Farnworth street back in November 1975.
Surrounded by bricked-up and crumbling houses awaiting demolition they said they had been forgotten by Bolton Council who had promised to re-house them.
Widow Mrs Annie Worrall (second from the left) said she was "terrified" of life in MacDonald Street.
People were breaking into houses and terrifying the old people who were still living there.
This picture certainly tells a story but we wonder what happened to (from left): Alice Robinson, Annie Worrall, Dora Openshaw, Florence Kay and Mary Thorpe whose homes were sandwiched among the bricked-up houses in MacDonald Street, Farnworth.
They lived in the Moses Gate area of Farnworth. Perhaps you did too and recall the clearance process and where the residents were re-housed.
