TODAY we have a lovely old photograph of Cox Green Road in Higher Dunscar for our readers to take a look at.

Has this road changed much in the time that has lapsed since it was taken? The scene was snapped in 1955.

Our original story said: "Although not on a direct bus route Cox Green is a well-used road, mainly because of the nearby quarries.

"It was, at one time, part of the old road to Blackburn and it joins the newer turnpike road at Dimple."

By 1992 this was no longer a through road with barriers preventing the traffic getting through and may be this was because of the dangers of the quarrying locally.

Does anyone have memories of this area they could share with us here at Looking Back?

Perhaps you lived in Cox Green Road in the 1950s and remember it as it was.
