THIS scene looks remarkably the same although there are many years between the two photographs.

We are unsure of the exact date of the first photograph — perhaps Looking Back readers will be able to enlighten us.

As you can see there is a man herding animals through the bridge opening on the older photograph —

perhaps travelling from a farm nearby.

But on our newer photograph it is a car that can be seen in the image.

Eagle-eyed readers may be able to spot a couple of vehicles on our older picture also which could help date the photograph.

This is Bromley Cross of course but we know very little about our older picture and would love to know more.

If you can help do get in touch with Gayle McBain on 01204 537269 or email gayle.mcbain@nqnw.co.uk

Bromley Cross has changed considerably over the years and it is always lovely to hear tales of the the past from this little village community.

It was once a thriving village in its own right and although only a stone's throw from Bolton did have an identity all of its own.
