TODAY’S star of the Animal Magic page is a real ‘walkie talkie’.
Little Dougie gets so excited when a stroll is in the offing that it sounds like he speaks.
Owner, James Ashton, said: “He full-on talks to you if you say ‘lead’ or ‘walkies’. It sounds like he's having a go at you. It's hilarious.”
The 27-year-old care work team leader lives with his family in Halliwell.
As well as Dougie, the family has two cats.
Not that the one-year-old Jack Russell and Yorkshire terrier cross is always totally enamoured with his feline friends.
“He gets jealous when we stroke the cats. We all share crisps it's like feeding time when they hear the rustling of a crisp packet,” added James.
“He's either hyper or sulking because he is tired. There is no in-between. But we wouldn't change him for the world.
“He doesn't always like being on his own and jumps up at you until you give him attention with a belly tickle.”
