TODAY’S Looking Back photograph will be a scene recognised by most of our readers.

It is, of course, a picture showing Bolton Town Centre from above with an especially good view of Victoria Square.

It really is a very different place to the town centre we know today as this photograph was taken in 1957.

It was snapped from high up on the Town Hall.

On the right hand side you can see the beginning of Newport Street as it leaves Bolton Town Hall Square.

We know that you love these old photographs as they bring back so many memories for you.

This particular part of Bolton is very different today but we are wondering if any of our readers still have vivid memories of when it looked just like this.

The cars and other vehicles give an insight into when the picture was taken and will, themselves, bring back memories for folk.
