MEMBERS of Age Concern and Barlow Park Social Centre in Bolton were off on a day trip back in April 1980.
Their destination was the Yorkshire Dales.
The trip was financed by Bolton Round Table, Age Concern, Community Development 4 and Autohire of Bolton.
Autohire of Bolton provided six mini buses for the event.
Here we see dozens of elderly folk waiting for the to trip to begin.

We know there were many day trips and holidays organised at a time when many people did not get the opportunity to leave the town.
