LAST week’s photograph was recognised by many of you.
It was, of course, a picture of what is now Arcon Village but was once Wallsuches and the thriving bleach works that formed the basis of Horwich’s growth from a tiny hamlet into a major town in the area.
The bleach works provided plenty of work for local people and helped to put Horwich on the map.
It was a well known local industry.
It is a familiar sight driving or walking into Horwich along Chorley Old Road and one many of you are clearly very familiar with.
Correct answers came from, among many others, John Radcliffe, Owen Graham, Albert Smith, Frank Hayman, Alice Lowton and Ray Brown.
So what about this week’s picture?
Do you recognise where this was taken?
