THESE photographs show a familiar Bolton town centre scene in snaps taken decades apart.
We have a view of Folds Road taken in 1946 with the âTâ route Tonge Moor tram about to enter the, then, narrow road underneath the railway arches.
Our second photograph was taken in 1987 and 41 years later the scene is still recognisable even though much has changed.
The railway arches are still there of course but the buildings on the right have changed considerably.
Gone are the brick walls of the building â do you remember the firms that worked from there?
It appears one would be a radiator works.
The buildings on the left, including what looks to be a family home, are also gone.
We can see the old railway arches much more clearly after the demolition has been carried out.
