OUR photograph shows a group of young families enjoying a day out but where are they?

You probably would have no idea from the picture but it was taken in Moss Bank Park.

Our guess is that this photograph was taken in the 1960s judging by the clothing.

The dresses look very sixties and the men appear to be wearing suits that would not look out of place in that era.

It seems there was some sort of car or vehicle show in the park at the time.

Moss Bank Park has always been a hugely popular place for families but was most popular at this particular time — before televisions and electronic equipment took over from good old fashioned family time.

The children are enjoying ice creams and it seems every age of the family has gathered for this special occasion.

We love the idea they had clearly taken a picnic blanket and a picnic along.

This was a time for gentle days out and simple pleasures such as going to the park.
