MORRISMEN from all over Lancashire gathered in Horwich in a celebration timed for St George’s Day 27 years ago in 1990.

Several groups of dancers took it in turns to perform their traditional routines, clapping with batons and stamping their clogs.

The parade was led by the local Horwich Morrismen who well and truly put their own ‘stamp’ on the occasion.

These days Horwich prize medal morris men practise on Wednesday nights from 8.30pm in the Horwich Resource Centre (Beaumont Road, Horwich, Bolton BL6 7BG)

They say new dancers and musicians are always welcome, and no experience is necessary!
