THESE lovely photographs show happy scenes in a very popular local park.
They show families enjoying the sunshine in Moss Bank Park.
The top picture features Moss Bank Park outdoor cafe in July 1974.
The traditional pram in the foreground gives away the date.
It is lovely to see so many families enjoying their time in this famous park.
The lower picture was taken in July 1964 and we suspect this was during the traditional Bolton Holiday fortnight or Wakes’ Weeks.
It is interesting to see how smart the family looks here for a game of golf close to the bowling green.
Today children would be more likely to be wearing jeans and trainers than smart trousers and jackets for a game in the park.
Moss Bank Park was opened as a public park on June 27, 1928.
It has always been a popular venue for families, particularly during the school holidays.
