THIS spot in Bolton Town Centre is very different today.

Here we see what used to be Timothy Whites — we are sure many of our readers will remember this shop — at the corner of Newport Street and Great Moor Street?

You can quite clearly see Bolton Town Hall in the background and we are assuming that today the view would be obscured slightly by the shops in Newport Street.

We do not have a date for the photograph and we are also hoping our readers will be able to help us with this.

It was a very busy time, judging by the number of people queuing to get into the pharmacy.

The Newport Street stretch of shops would be built after this photograph was taken and would become a major shopping street in Bolton Town Centre.

Today the shops are being renovated and its future is looking far more rosy again.

In Newport Street there had always been smaller, more individual shops, than in other parts of town.
