A GREYHOUND charity in Tyldesley has got off to a speedy start this year.

Five dogs were rehomed by Makants Greyhound Rescue North West in January.

They are all ex racing greyhounds and are named Star, Ginny, Biffo, Ripley and Lotto.

A spokesman for Makants said: “These dogs, contrary to popular belief, do not need a great deal of exercise and are happy with two short walks a day as well as spending a lot of their time asleep.”

The Mort Lane centre has a constant supply of greyhounds that need rehoming, and are also looking for volunteers to join their fundraising team or to walk the greyhounds.
