THIS old photograph shows a group of boys who were winning just about every trophy available in the 1925 to 1926 season.

Team member Jack Pountney gave us here at The Bolton News this photograph some years ago and we are reproducing it again in the hope someone might recognise a relative on it.

The boys were pupils at White Bank Boys’ School in Bolton which we have featured a number of times in Looking Back.

The school was a very popular one in the town and when we feature it in the paper it always brings back fond memories for readers.

Among the team members in this picture was Tom Bromley (wearing the cap in the front row) who went on to play in the schoolboys’ national team.

The picture had been kept by Jack for more than 60 years and he could be seen at the left of the shield.

The school was in Deane Road and admission was by a tough entrance examination. If you have White Bank School memories get in touch with Gayle McBain 01204 537269 or gayle.mcbain@nqnw.co.uk
