LAST week’s location was recognised by a number of our avid Looking Back readers.
Anne Lockett correctly identified Bankfield Street, in Deane.
She says: “The first avenue on the right is Shepley Avenue and the second is Wellfield Road.
“I cannot remember the name of the mill but at a rough guess I think the picture was taken some time in the fifties.”
Derreck Horrocks also correctly spotted this was Bankfield Street, looking down towards Deane Road he explains.
Other correct answers came from Mrs Elsie Powell, Mr Banks, John Patterson, George Horrocks, Christine Owen, Maxine Taylor, Tom Halligan, Roy Beardsworth, as well as Stephen Bailey, Stan Lomax and Jean Smith.
