THIS splendid photograph shows a property that was once a famous building in Bolton.
This is Bradshaw Hall seen here in 1949 with two of its residents heading through the front door.
The house is a fragment of a fine 17th-century building, with a new south front dating from the early years of the 19th century.
The original building had a frontage facing east of over 60 ft., and was of three stories with centre porch and flanking bay windows going up the full height
It was owned by the Bradshaw family — a very famous Bolton family whose name was given to the area in which they lived.
Perhaps the two people we can see at the entrance to Bradshaw Hall were, in fact, Bradshaws.
Did the family live there for generations?
