THIS picture is probably not going to catch many readers out.

However we thought it was a photograph of its era that was worth printing.

It is a Bolton town centre scene and is little changed from when the picture was taken in 1966 although the cars of the time will bring back memories for many motorists.

Is that a Corsair and a Zephyr parked on the road where restrictions still apply today?

It mixes the old with the new, the historic with the modern. The streets to the left are some of the oldest in the town and today are given over to comercial businesses, although they were probably once very grand homes.
