A MODEL railway has always held a particular fascination for young and old alike.
And this picture taken back in 1971 makes the point nicely.
Bolton Model Railway Group staged a model rail exhibition at All Saints School in Devon Street, Moses Gate.
Youngsters and adults were all drawn to watch the model locomotive and train as it chugged around the miniature railway track, and through the model village, all meticulously laid out by Model Railway Group members.
This picture was taken for the Bolton Evening News sister paper, the Bolton Journal, on October 8, 1971.
