STUNNING views, high quality finishes — and a brightly-coloured parrot.

House hunters looking for a new property in Bolton may need to do a double take when checking out photographs of an impressive house for sale.

The three-bedroom, semi-detached house — in Boardman Street, Blackrod — has its very own giant bird striking a pose in each room.

Estate agents at Platinum Properties in Winter Hey Lane, Horwich, decided to have a bit of fun when putting the home on the market.

Steve Laycock, who runs the business, recently sold another property in Nightingale Road, Blackrod, with lovely brilliant views.

Mr Laycock said: "There was an increased amount of interest on that property.

"This is another house with a great view.

"The kitchen is black and white and we wanted to give it a bit of colour.

"The finish inside is to such a high standard."

He says the home owner was 'up for a laugh' and the listing has been causing a stir online, having only been posted at 6pm on Monday.

Mr Laycock said: "We've already done a couple of viewings.

"We always like to think we do some of the best photography of the estate agents in the area."

The house, on sale at offers over £225,000, boasts a gloss black kitchen with granite work surfaces, an outdoor entertaining area and three reception rooms.

The parrot, however, does not come as part of the fixtures and fittings and Mr Laycock is keeping the identity of his feathered friend a secret.

Perhaps we will see the mystery bird swooping in on another house soon.
