THE number of people completing apprenticeships in Bolton more than doubled in the last few years.
New figures show that there were 693 people completing them in 2005/06 compared to 293 in 2002/03.
Bolton North-east MP David Crausby said:
"It is wonderful news that the number of people completing apprenticeships has risen so much in recent years.
"Apprenticeships are great opportunities to get a foot on the career ladder, learn new skills and gain qualifications in a range of industries from engineering to media.
"I know that businesses locally in Bolton will be reaping the rewards of training apprentices."
