THE music of the big bands is coming to Bolton next month.
Andy Prior and his newly formed Swingtime Big Band will be performing at the Victoria Hall, Bolton, on October 14 complete with special guests, vocalist Emma Holcroft and Smithills School and Community Big Band.
The event will feature the music of Glen Miller and Frank Sinatra and has been organised by the Rotary Club of Bolton le Moors in aid of charity.
Andy has performed around the world with the Wigan Jazz Orchestra and was awarded the Don Lusher Trophy for Best Soloist in the BBC Radio Big Band competition.
He later joined the Eric Delaney Big Band, playing for a season at the world-famous Blackpool Tower Ballroom, before forming the Andy Prior Big Band.
In between touring, he has played guest spots including fronting the legendary Bill May’s orchestra in the world-famous Stardust Hotel in Las Vegas.
Tickets for the Victoria Hall concert cost £18 and are available from the box office on 07836 358222.
