FORTY years of rocking and rolling is being celebrated in Bolton tomorrow.
Night Train will mark their ruby anniversary with a hometown gig at The Cotton Tree in Prince Street.
The Bolton based blues and rock band have undergone several line-up changes over the years, but are still fronted by Alec Martin, who also runs The Buskers Ball open mic session.
He said: “It’s been a long trip and we’ve played all over the country at venues ranging from dives to rock festivals.
“Seeing this is the 40th year it will be good to celebrate with a gig in a pub we used to play a lot when we were starting out.
“Despite line-up changes, I’ve managed to keep the sound of the band more or less the same since- a mix of 60’s British R&B and Chicago blues, with a dollop of psychedelia thrown in for good measure.”
The band have an album of original material out, with the cover designed by a local artist
Alec added: “We hope several of our ex members will turn up and maybe get up for a jam session.”
