After an array of sounds and genre across B Festival’s four stages throughout Easter Sunday, the day was concluded with show-stopping performances from The Blinders, Our Fold, and The Strawberries on The Blind Tiger’s Main Stage.

Leeds-based rockers, The Strawberries brought their blues inspired music of chilled out psychedelia to a venue bursting at the seams. The crowds indulged in the band’s glittered guitar-work, soulful bass tones and thumping drums, as the fast-rising four-piece cast themselves alchemists of atmosphere.

Local heroes, Our Fold then took to the stage. Their alternative rock sound was a technicolour triumph of poppy exploration, highlighted in standout track, ‘Two Little Angels’, a four-on-the-floor pop-rock stomp.

With a play-through gig of their forthcoming album, ‘Sick Of Normal Life’ coming up on May 13 at Band On The Wall, Manchester, the Bolton four-piece are on the rise. Fellow Bolton-rockers, The Jade Assembly will support.

The stage was later stolen by Manchester-based band, The Blinders, a trio of students, who describe their sound as ‘punkadelic’.

Hot off the back of a national tour, the three-piece brought their political poetry and raw power to a youthful Blind Tiger crowd, whose riotous response summoned bruising moshpits supreme.

The adolescent punks dragged the English punk resurgence kicking and screaming to the Bolton festival, and reflected on other bands in the genre, citing the actions of Mancunians, Cabbage, to be “what bands should be doing.”

The curators of chaos noted that Cabbage, who played to a hit-filled set to a packed Blind Tiger in November, are “no gimmick”, and that the “radio-friendliness” they’ve been criticised for is the perfect platform for getting their punk message to the masses.

The band emphasised the importance of live experience to their music, saying that much of their music spawns from live performance.

Their free-flowing set at B Festival signalled the underground shift back towards the genre, as they move on to Camden Rocks Festival and Jack Rocks 7 in the coming weeks.
