A FESTIVAL celebrating some of the best North West music is being revived in Bolton.

When not performing on London roof top bars or headlining gigs around the UK, members of Jordan Allen are creating stages in their home town.

Guitarist Danny Quin is helping to bring back the much-loved Fox Fest next weekend.

The event, organised by Luna Music Management, has been away for nearly five years but returns with a bang on September 2 at the Stork Tavern in Halliwell.

Fox Fest 2017 Back on the Road, will feature headliners The Jade Assembly – used to playing big festivals around the UK – and another secret local guest star which is yet to be revealed.

Danny said: “Because of the event’s success over the years, more than anything it became too busy and big for the pub alone to handle.

“I work in the music industry and have been to plenty of festivals so me and my partner though we could d help out.

“Bands from all over the country applied to be part of the festival - we had more than 250 applicants. I’m mates with most of the bands but some of them I don’t know.

“There are four brilliant bands I have never seen live and bringing them to play in Bolton is quite a nice thing to do.”

Joining the two headliners will be Bolton singer and guitarist Connor Peploe and indie rockers The Case, Wigan indie rockers Ravellas, Plastic House, Lyerr, Clear Break and ex-Sound of Sirens frontman turned acoustic singer Robert Doherty will also be at the day-long event.

The event is being held in aid of The Brain Tumour Charity, a charity which Jordan Allen have been raising funds for through the sale of their last single 110 Ways to Make Things Better.

The song was penned by frontman Jordan in memory of his father Kevin Allen, who died in October, aged 53, following a long battle with his health after being diagnosed with a brain tumour.

Danny said: “I chose the charity because our EP helped them and I wanted to stick to that. We are doing it for the charity more than anything.

“The music scene in Bolton is really cool so of course it will be a great event.

“We have already sold out of VIP tickets and as of last week sold 200 of the 500 general admission tickets. Hopefully it will be heaving if all goes well and we can plan ahead for a bigger and better event next year!”

Tickets for the event must be purchased in advance from the Stork Tavern in Halliwell Road or by contacting fox_fest@aol.com and cost £8 for general admission, £4 for under 16s and under 10s go free. All profits go The Brain Tumour Charity.
