INDIE-rockers The Jade Assembly will be back in their hometown to stage their biggest gig to date.

The Bolton four piece band will be performing at the Macron Stadium alongside 'high profile' bands for a charity concert in support of the Greater Manchester Mayor led campaign to end rough sleeping.

Details of the concert were announced as the band released their new single Nothing Changes, with proceeds of  download sales going to the Big Change Society, supported by the Andy Burnham's Homelessness Fund.

John along with fellow musicians, bassist Danny Hayes, drummer Andy Watson and guitarist Gareth Smedley, will take to the stage in September.

John "Foz' Foster, singer, said: "This is our biggest show to date, and is massive for us to perform in our how town and raise awareness of the Big Change.

"All the profits from the concert will go to the society.

"This issue is hugely important you only have to work the streets of Bolton to see why."

The Bolton band is establishing a national reputation, with its single being picked up by national radio.

John, who lives in Bradshaw, said they first got in touch with Mr Burnham during the election campaign. Knowing he was a big fan of music, the band suggested that he use their song Time for a Change as part of his election campaign, which the band said he did.

Since then they have stayed in touch with the mayor of Greater Manchester through which the band came up with the idea of a charity concert at which it is expected Mr Burnham will attend.

"We can't make public the name of the bands just yet, but we do have some high profile ones lined-up," said John, "It will be a sell out concert."

The band was formed around five years ago and their latest single is receiving airplay on BBC radio channels and on Radio X.

"It has really taken off for us in the last year. We have performed in London, Manchester and Preston as part of a short tour.

"We appeal to everyone, from 16 to 80-year-olds."

Bands which would like to take part in the charity concert planned for September 22 should email the band's manager on mick@thejadeassembly.co.uk

Details of tickets for the concert on September 22 will be announced in the near future.
