BROOKLYN-based band The National, hailed as one of the best new bands around this year, have announced that they will be going on tour this November.
Reviewing their recently-released album High Violet, The Sunday Times said, “This is what music means. Anything else is froth.” The Evening Standard described them as evoking “the joyous musicality of Arcade Fire, the clattering hypnotism of Can and the gothic despair of Tindersticks, without actually sounding like anyone else.”
Their new single, Anyone’s Ghost, will be released on June 28, just after they play the Other Stage at this year’s Glastonbury.
The November tour will kick off at the Olympia in Paris, reaching England on November 24 with a date at Manchester Academy on November 27.
Tickets cost £18.50 and go on sale at 9am tomorrow. To book, visit gigsandtours.com or ring 0871 2200 260.
