BOLTON band The Planets will be billed alongside David Bowie, Queens of the Stone Age and Megadeth — on a new computer game.

The band’s track Slasher Horror will be featured on the new Sony Playstation 3 game MotorStorm 2: Pacific Rift, alongside songs by better-known artists.

“This is a real break for us,” says The Planets frontman, Stephen Evans. “There’s a lot of people out there discovering new music through computer games and checking out the bands they hear on the web.”

Nigel Kershaw, Game Director of MotorStorm 2: Pacific Rift said: “When I saw The Planets live I was really impressed by both their songs and their delivery, and I really couldn’t believe a band of that quality weren’t signed.

“I’m not in a position to offer them a record deal, but I put them forward for inclusion on our latest game which is shaping up to be a worthy successor to MotorStorm. The Planets didn’t fail to deliver and gave us a rocking track that works really well with the game.”

The Planets will also be releasing a single, Evil Dead, via iTunes, on November 7.
