THE Wanted’s bid to become the biggest british boyband to hit America since Take That continues with the news that they have been offered a walk-on role in the hit show Entourage.
The band, including Tonge Moor lad Tom Parker and former Bolton School pupil Max George, met the show’s executive producer Mark Wahlberg while they were on holiday in Barbados, where the Hollywood star apparently admitted to being a fan.
The five-piece’s debut American single, Glad You Came, reached number four in the Billboard charts, beating the record for a British boyband previously held by Take That, and was also covered on Glee. Their debut US album will be released on April 24.
Rival boyband One Direction are currently at number 44 in the Billboard chart with What Makes You Beautiful.
The two groups have reportedly been involved in a spat over which would make it bigger Stateside.
