MANCHESTER'S electro popsters The Whip have been speaking about how much they are looking forward to this year's Gatecrasher Summer Sound System.
Singer Bruce Carter said: "We'll be getting the party going with Eddie who's on the same stage as us then defo having a hoot with Annie Mac, we had a laugh together at snowbombing.
"The Crookers guys are great, we love the remix they just did for our song Trash. We'll be dancing to that one and then some DJ Mehdi action.

"The Cassette Jam boys know how to party too, we had fun at snowbombing with them too. They are wild beasts, one of them woke up covered in blood at snowbombing without going near a slope. We always have a hoot with the Does It Offend You Yeah? boys."
However, despite their house influences, the band have admitted that they can't remember Gatecrasher's creation in 1988.
"Mate I'm a tiny bit too young so I had to make do with mix tapes of acid house in the bedroom and stories of fun nights from older mates," said Bruce. "I had the clothes!
"My mate Aniff used to play at the Hac and he would tell me this story about how they would turn all the lights out when he played Lil Louis' Blackout, so I nicked the story and called a song on our album Blackout."
The band credit much of their success to MySpace, who are partners with this year's Gatecrasher festival.
"It's great to be able to talk to people who are into your music," said Bruce. "They can let you know what works and what doesn't, it's been a real help towards getting us up and running."
The Whip play Gatecrasher Summer Sound System on Saturday, May 24.
