DVD Review - Various Artists - Super Drumming Vol 3

THE third - and biggest - volume of the series. Super Drumming' began as a series in Germany in 1987. Some of the world's top drummers and percussionists were invited in to showcase the role of a drummer both as a soloist and as a rhythm player in a band.

Volume 3 has 40 tracks spread over 2CDs and features such eminent skins men as Cozy Powell, Bill Bruford, Nippy Noya and Zak Starkey. Heading the cast is Pete York whose series it was.

With backing bands that feature the likes of Brian Auger and Jon Lord, it's not just a drum-fest, but a musical extravaganza.

And if you get hold of Volumes 1 and 2, released in 2003 and 2004, you'll have over 9 hours of drumming at its' best.
