AFTER The Soft Machine and Gong, Daevid Allen and some friends formed the impromptu University of Errors. Through the U of E, he thought that it would be the perfect vehicle to visit some of The Soft Machine's early material upon which he was featured.
This concert was filmed in Amsterdam at the Gong Unconvention in 2006, and showa a band at their peak - despite the weirdness. The Soft Machine in their early days were what you might call "Psychedelic" and it certainly shows in numbers like That's How Much I Need You Now', You Don't Remember' and Shooting At The Moon'.
There's also some newer material such as Stoned Innocent Frankenstein' which fair rocks. And the psychedelia continues with Fohat Digs Holes In Space' which features what looks like a space-age Amazon warrior on the Theremin.
