BOLTON salesman Alex Wotherspoon again found himself on the losing side in week three of the BBC hit reality show The Apprentice.
But this time the 24-year-old from Rosewood, Westhoughton, managed to stay out of the boardroom and avoid the dreaded words: "You're Fired".
Alex is among the hopefuls battling it out for a job with Sir Alan Sugar's company.
In the first episode, Alex clung on to his place by the skin of his teeth when he was one of the three in the firing line.
He was spared by Sir Alan because he had volunteered to be a team leader.
Last night the teams were faced with the task of serving food in a London pub.
Alex's temper flared when, as part of the marketing team, he was asked by team leader Ian Stringer to pick up supplies from the supermarket which the catering team had forgotten.
But Alex, a sales manager who looks after a team of 30 sales agents across the north, did manage to negotiate the cost of the menus down from £2 to £1 per sheet.
However, it did not stop the boys' team from losing. They had takings of £844.97 but, because of overheads, their profit was just £301.97. The girls' Bollywood-themed curry evening, however, made £604.27. It was Alex's team leader, Ian, who was fired by Sir Alan.
