AN open air production which was due to take place this evening has had to be postponed because of bad weather.
Moses Gate Country Park was due to stage a play and fireworks display to mark its 200th year.
But forecasted high winds and heavy rain led organisers to postpone the event on safety grounds yesterday.

Youngsters across the borough had been involved in the preparations to stage a production of The Return of the Swan Princess, which was to be the highlight of the Lights Fantastic Event.
But yesterday, park rangers were busy wrapping up the puppets and other props made by children. The show will be rearranged for October.
Park ranger Andy Bailey said: "It is disappointing that the production has to be postponed but if we had gone ahead the show would not have been as spectacular because some parts, such as the fireworks, would have been cancelled.
"But the work the children have put in will not be wasted, the puppets will be kept safe. The extra time will allow us to add more things to the production."
A Bolton Council spokesman said: "Organisers have had to make the difficult decision after consultation with staging and pyrotechnic suppliers.

I wish the Bolton News would publicise these events and not just cancellations. This was the first I knew about this event and would love to have gone along with my own children.

The Bolton News can only give you information that they have been given in the first place. If the organisers don't let them know then how can they pass on the info? They are not psychic you know.

This has been publised by the park and their literature, so get out more and visit them at weekends, it's great. Shame about the cancellation I was looking forward to going.
