A MINI Monster Challenge is to be held at a Bolton park this summer.

FirstGroup have picked Bolton to host one of its "dualthon" relay races.

The town is one of five locations in the UK to stage the races, which are in aid of Save the Children.

The Mini Monster Challenge will be held at Leverhulme Pak, Breightmet, on Saturday, June 7.

The challenge will comprise a 3km run with a 10km bicycle ride, or an easier 1.5km run and 5km cycle ride.

Teams of four will take it in turns to complete a leg of the dualthon.

Andy Scholey, managing director of First's bus operations in Greater Manchester, said: "I'm delighted that we have one of the Mini Monster Challenges in our area.

"The course at Leverhulme Park is mostly flat and accessible making the event one that almost anyone can complete.

"We are expecting the event to be popular, so anyone interested in taking part should get their team together and sign up now."
