A SPECIAL ceremony to welcome in the new Mayor of Bolton will take place on Wednesday.
Anthony Connell, a councillor for Little Lever and Darcy Lever, will take over from the town's current First Citizen Cllr Barbara Ronson.
Cllr Connell is 66, and lives in Elm Road, Little Lever. He has been a councillor for 18 years.

He spent three years in the Army with the Royal Engineers in the 1970s.
He will be inaugurated in the council chamber before a celebratory luncheon in the Albert Halls. Cllr Ronson, the present mayor, will become his deputy.
