ACROSS six discs and in all it’s glory, the complete sixth series of the revived Doctor Who is now available to buy on DVD and Blu-Ray.

Starring Matt Smith as the eleventh Doctor, Karen Gillan as Amy and Arthur Darvill as Rory, we have here the most anticipated season of the show ever.

The 13 episodes had everything. The Doctor dying, Amy aging and Rory – well, being Rory.

No, that’s unfair, because Rory becomes more hands-on in this series and he does fetch Hitler a fine one across the chops in the excellently-titled Let’s Kill Hitler.

We also have the TARDIS made flesh, and the return of River Song (played by Alex Kingston).

As an added bonus, we also have the Doctor getting married – or do we?

Amy swashbuckles and the Silence make their eerie presence felt.

Guest stars aplenty crop up with regularity throughout the series.

Ian McNiece reprises his portrayal as Winston Churchill and Simon Callow returns as Charles Dickens in the series finale when all of time gets mixed up.

Hugh Bonneville and Suranne Jones both make appearances (ex-Corrie star Suranne also appeared as Mona Lisa in The Sarah Jane Adventures).

Catwalk queen Lily Cole plays a sea-spirit and David Walliams crops up as a mole-like creature.

And James Corden makes a welcome return as Craig, with whom the Doctor once shared a flat.

And if that wasn’t enough, the extras are just mouith-watering.

To begin with, there’s the 2010 Christmas episode – A Christmas Carol, Monster Files and Doctor Who Confidentials.

And if you’ve ever wondered what goes on in the TARDIS at night, there are a number of mini episodes specially written by the show runner Steven Moffat.

As well as the normal packaging, there’s a limited edition numbered boxset that features a Silence head in 3D!

Terrific stories, superb acting and a surfeit of action.

I know what’s on my Christmas list!
