Adam Lippes's autumn/winter 09 collection has a taste of the orient about it.

Inspired by the cherry blossoms, Samurai warriors and graceful geishas of 19th century Japanese photographs, Adam Lippes presented an enticing collection of vibrant colors, rich textures and wearable pieces.

Love was in the air at the show, held on Valentine’s Day, as it commenced with a silk pant and black chiffon shirt that immediately set the elegant, yet laid back tone.

Trousers were in full force, along with chiffon neck-tie tops and ensembles perfect for lounging. There were other chic day looks reminiscent of Japanese silk pajamas, and by the end of the show these had morphed into fun cocktail dresses with stunning details.

Keep your tights and go all out in shocking pink, clash with creams for colour pop rage.

We saw a colour palette of Begonia, milk white, graphite, heather grey, aubergine, fuschia, navy, shocking orange, cream, emerald and black We saw chiffons, silk gauze, cotton, wool, cashmere, satin and quilted leather. Flash fur lining, feathers and metal embroidery were top of the trend.
