A clothes shop and a beauty salon have joined forces to raise money for charity with an exclusive catwalk show . . .

Claire Nuttall, who owns Seven Clothing in Market Street, Farnworth and Pamela Rigby of Bobbles Hair and Beauty, also in Market Street, got together to provide an evening of clothes, beauty and entertainment in aid of Breakthrough Breast Cancer.

The show, at Lounge 10 in Nelson Square, Bolton town centre was attended by 120 people, who marvelled as almost 30 models took to the runway to showcase the latest styles in the fashion and beauty world.

There was also a raffle and auction which included a Manchester United football shirt, signed by Wayne Rooney which went for £400 and a signed Bolton Wanderers shirt which went for £300.

Clothes from designers Religion and Danish brand Gestuz went on show — which will soon be appearing in Selfridges this autumn/winter and in Harvey Nichols in spring/summer next year.

A jazz style singer provided the entertainment and James Bond fanatic and local actor Jack Marsden compered.

Seven Clothing’s Claire said: “It was a great event. Everyone was up and dancing into the small hours of the morning.”

Pamela, who owns Bobbles, explained how she got involved. She said: “It’s something that’s close to all our hearts. All of us at the salon have either lost someone or known people who have pulled through with cancer.”

It took three months to prepare her models and in the end 14 of them walked down the catwalk. Pamela said: “It was very hard going and everyone was hands on. The event raised £3,000 and staff are going to be doing more events such as Race for Life to make extra cash. The donations were incredible. It was better than we thought. The support was superb.”
