BEAUTY, make-up and fashion fan Sammeh Williamson loves nothing more than trying out the latest trends and products.

The 26-year-old set up a blog to share her passion with others and has landed a place in the final of a national competition to win a blogger award — shortlisted out of 47,000 hopefuls.

Sammeh, of Abingdon Road, Tonge Park, said: “I've been into beauty from my early teens.

“I've always enjoyed trying and testing out new products that come onto the market. I've also been a massive fan of hair and love trying out new ways to colour and style it. I like to be different when it comes to beauty which is why I always go for the bold hair colours and dramatic eye looks.

“There's so many different looks you can do for different occasions. It's fun being able to create looks that make you feel good and bring out more confidence in yourself.”

She is now hoping to be crowned best newcomer in the Cosmopolitan Blog Awards 2014, thanks to her musings on website Odds and Sodz which attracts thousands of hits.

She said: “I enjoy writing about make-up because I can give my readers an honest open opinion about certain products.

“It's a real accomplishment when they come back and tell me that they've bought a particular item I raved about and they loved it too. It's nice to engage with people who have similar interests.”

SAMMEH’S MAKE-UP FAVOURITES

Concealer — Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer (£4.19) (Boots, Superdrug or Asda)

I love this concealer as it has the perfect consistency for hiding those dark circles under your eyes. It's long-wearing and, at less than a fiver, it has been deemed better than higher end products. Definitely a favourite among many beauty bloggers.

Blusher — Sleek Blusher (£4.49) (Superdrug)

This blusher comes in many flattering shades and is highly pigmented so a little amount goes a long way. It also comes in handy packaging so you can use on the go for touch ups.

Eyes — Soap and Glory’s Supercat black eyeliner pen (£6.00) (Boots)

This is a great eye liner if you like to perfect the cat eye flick at the corners of your eyes. It comes with a pointy little nib on the end which can make the most terrible make up artists feel like Picasso! It's also great as there's near to no smudging and it lasts all day.

Hair — Charles Worthington texturising spray (£6.99) (Boots)

For anyone who wants pretty flowing locks, this product is a great substitute for the Oribe spray which comes in at over £30. It's great for building up volume and adding great texture to your hair as well as making it look clean and fresh!

Powder — Stay Matte Pressed Powder by Rimmel (£3.99) (Boots, Superdrug)

If you’re on a budget then this powder is a great one to buy. It sets your make-up nicely and It feels incredibly light. It's also perfect for those with oily skin.

Lips — Kate Moss Lasting Finish Lipstick by Rimmel (£5.49) (Boots, Superdrug)

Gives a lovely matte finish and doesn't dry out the lips too much. Also comes in many different colours to suit everyone, 107 being my favourite.
