Act name: Sara Crompton, 16-year-old acoustic singer, from Manchester

When and where did you start performing?

I started singing about four years ago but have only very recently started performing. I am currently playing local gigs around the Bolton area.

What is your sound and who are your influences?

I would describe my style as acoustic singer/songwriter and I particularly like to take songs and cover them by putting my own acoustic twist on them. As a music lover I listen to a wide variety of music genres but take inspiration from the likes of Nina Nesbitt, Lewis Watson and Ed Sheeran.

What is the biggest gig you have played to date?

The biggest gig I have played was actually my first proper gig, performing at the Bolton Rocks Festival on November 8. It was a really successful gig and I hope to be able to play similar ones in the future.

If you are not already, is it your ambition to become professional?

Music has always been my passion and I aspire to have a career in music very much. I hope to be able to take my music further and perform as part of my career.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

I hope to be progressing with my own music, writing and recording hopefully with a couple of albums and I hope to be gigging a lot more.

Is there anything unusual or interesting about you or the act?

I think what makes me different is that I have such a wide variety in music taste that I can take any genre of song and put my own individual twist on it and really make it my own.

Upcoming gigs?

My next gig is a charity gig on December 13 and it's for a charity very close to my heart — Riding For The Disabled — so I can't wait to perform there.
