A CELEBRATION band which delves deeper into The Beatles' back-catalogue is coming to Bromley Cross.

The Threetles, who will appear at the Railway Venue, Chapeltown Road, on Saturday, January 10, have played more than 100 tracks live since forming more than two years ago.

As well as the Fab Four's famous hits, they play lesser known tracks from the likes of Rubber Soul, Revolver, White Album and Let It Be.

Band member Tom Jones, from Oldham, said: "We like to mix it up.

"We like to do the traditional Beatles numbers but then we also like to play the album tracks and the B-sides to keep The Beatles nuts happy.

"They are such good songs you will get swept along with them anyway if you know them or not."

The band started off as three Beatle-obsessed pals playing at open mic nights in pubs but soon grew into a gigging five-piece which now features Tom, Andy Housley, Andy Preston, Paul Brierley and Simon McGoran.

They were all brought up by "Beatles-obsessed parents" and Tom says it is the variety of the styles in The Beatles' music that he loves.

He said: "Just the variety — just the huge amount of different styles.

"There's everything in there from the straight out rock and roll through to the quite classical flavours and the indie stuff — it's just across the board."

They have played many gigs in their native Oldham and were delighted to host a concert at Oldham’s Astoria Theatre, 50 years to the night The Beatles had played on the same stage.

Tom said: "It's now a roller skating rink.

"We did the same set that The Beatles did 50 years ago."

The band has also appeared at The Cavern Club in Liverpool — the club where The Beatles played in the early days — and the musicians are looking forward to appearing at the Railway Venue for the first time.

Their attention to detail in terms of the instruments used, as well as the arrangements, has attracted praise from fellow musicians and Beatle-fans alike.

Speaking of their look, Tom added: "We don't tend to try to dress the part, we don't do the wigs and jackets and things."

The Threetles will be at the Railway Venue, Chapeltown Road, Bromley Cross, on Saturday, January 10. Tickets cost £6 on the door.

"We are looking at the summer festivals, we'll see how it goes really."
