THE ghoulish adventures of the weird and wonderful Addams family will be staged by a youth theatre group in Bolton.

The Addams Family, being performed by BCMCS Youth Theatre, features an original story which is every father's nightmare.

It runs from Thursday, March 5, to Saturday, March 7, at the Parish Hall Theatre, Christ Church, Egerton.

The ultimate princess of darkness, Wednesday Addams, has grown up and fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family — a man her parents have never met.

Everything will change for the whole family on the fateful night Gomez and Morticia host a dinner for their daughter's 'normal' boyfriend and his parents.

Neville Grady, BCMCS general secretary, said: "Rehearsals are going extremely well and the cast are loving playing the quirky characters they’ve seen on TV.

"We first considered the show for our adult musical for 2014 but, after reading a perusal copy, it was rejected in favour of Grease.

"However we thought it would be an excellent choice for our youth theatre to present in 2015 as we try to give them a different challenge each year, as we did last year with Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat."

Based on the family of characters created by cartoonist Charles Addams, and the subsequent popular TV series, it also features Pugsley, Uncle Fester, Grandma Adams and butler Lurch.

The Addams Family is at the Parish Hall Theatre, Christ Church, Egerton, from March 5 to 7 at 7.15 pm with a Saturday matinee at 2.15 pm.

Tickets are available from the BCMCS Box Office, phone 07958 459423, costing £9 for adults and £6.50 for children.

There are concessions for families and groups.
