THE audience will certainly be left wanting more after watching the talented cast of St Philips AODS and the Junior Workshop bring the much loved musical Oliver to the stage.

The theatre company has brought together its adult and junior sections to create a spectacular production for all the family which features popular songs including Oom-Pah-Pah, Food Glorious Food and I'll Do Anything.

Adapted from Charles Dickens' classic Oliver Twist, the audience the follow the journey of an orphan through song and dance.

Mina Kirkbright, vice-chairwoman of St Philips AODS, said: "We did Oliver as one of our productions a number of years ago, but it just involved the junior section.

"We thought it would be nice to do something with both sections, with John Booth from the junior section playing Oliver, which is his first big role.

"Oliver is a very popular musical, everyone knows the tunes.

She added: "Oliver is a great family musical and everyone who comes to watch will get a very warm welcome.

"On the Thursday showing we will be having for the first time a signed production."

Director Sarah Pilkington said: "Rehearsals are going very well, I am blessed with a talented and enthusiastic cast.

"It is a musical with wonderful tunes, humour and some very tense moments — real edge of the seat moments with the scenes between Bill and Nancy."

Oliver opens on April 11 and runs until the 14. Evening performances are at 7.30pm with a matinee performance on the April 14 at 2.30pm.

The show will be staged at Commerce House in Bridgeman Place, Bolton.
