Jacob’s Creek Reserve Pinot Noir 2010, £9.98, Asda and elsewhere.
Jacob’s Creek is Australia’s biggest selling brand.
But it would be a big mistake to be patronising about the household name because quality is a huge part of the success.
This classy Pinot Noir isn’t cheap but its superb black cherry and strawberry taste and layered texture makes it compare very favourably with the competition.
