GAMERS are set to queue up at midnight when the final installment of gaming trilogy Halo is released.
Gamestation, in Newport Street, Bolton, will open at 12.01am on September 26 to sell copies of Halo 3.
The Xbox 360 game, which retails for £49.99, has been widely anticipated and already there have been tens of thousands of pre-orders in Britain.
Its predecessor, Halo 2, had 1.5 million pre-orders worldwide in 2004 and went on to sell seven million within a year, raking in more money than every Hollywood film released that year.
The first-person shooter Halo 3 is set to be even bigger.
Paul Wilson, area manager for Gamestation, said: "This game will be huge which is why we are opening at midnight. Our customers have the chance to be among the first to get their hands on this final chapter of the Halo story."

A film version of the game by Oscar-winning director Peter Jackson has been put on hold.
Jackson, who won a best director Oscar for Lord Of The Rings, was an executive producer on the movie, which was scheduled for release in the summer 2008.
Rumours suggested the studios were concerned the budget could reach £200m, after an original projection of £135m.
